Mandy Moore hopes for a bright new dayBy Elysa Gardner, USA TODAYNEW YORK — Pop stars are not known as early risers. But Mandy Moore insists that she's a morning person."I enjoy that part of the day," says Moore. "I love waking up and having that little bit of time to get a cup of coffee. There's something about physically going out to get coffee, instead of just making it, you know?" The wholesomely pretty 23-year-old certainly looks more at home than many of her showbiz peers would sitting in a sun-drenched cafe at 9 a.m., digging into a hearty breakfast of Irish oatmeal with flambéed bananas. But Moore's non-nocturnal nature can have its down side, as she discovered while making her new album, Wild Hope, out June 19. "We would stay up until midnight or 1 recording," says Moore, who "usually starts to fade around 10:30. So after that, I would be like, 'I'm cooked,' and I'd go to bed.
