| Baby products | | Okay moms! Which baby products did you find you couldn't live without? I had such a hard time when I was registering for baby products. I didn't know what would prove useful or useless. I thought it would be nice to generate a list for other confused first time moms. I personally have found that I cannot survive without 1. a wipe warmer, the shock of a cold wipe would make my daughter cry. 2. my infantino front carrier, i tried the sling but she hated being on her back! I think being against your chest hearing your heartbeat reminds them of where they lived for 9 months! 3. diaper genie diaper pail, the bags smell great and whisk away those stinky diapers! | |
| | How prepared are you for a natural disaster? | | When I was very young my grandmother had a cellar where she stored everything from canned goods to gallon jugs of water and at that time it was just in case we were being bombed and this was going to be our shelter for who knew how long. These days we have to worry more about natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes. Depending on where you live there is more likely to be one more than the other. the first thing they tell us is that we should be able to get in touch with our family so we can meet up somewhere and since most of us have cell phones I think we have that covered. We should also have a duffel bag with the following items in it:* Flashlight* Battery-powered radio* Extra batteries for flashlight and radio* First-aid kit* Prescription medications* Copies of the prescriptions* Eyeglasses* Copy of eyeglasses prescription* At least one gallon of water per person in the household* Enough food that doesn't require refrigeration or cooking (such as nuts, granola bars, canned foods, etc.) to last each family member for three days* Special items needed for infants (for example,... | |
