| Baby cereal recall! If you have a baby, you need to read this. | | Just a few minutes ago, they announced on the local news that Gerber is going to recall it's Organic rice baby cereals. Seems that some of the lumps may not dissolve in water. I think this could potentially pose a choking hazard for babies. Noone has complained so far. But, just the thought is unsettling. As a mom, this makes me very angry! I cannot understand why Gerber did not do proper product testing before releasing their Organic rice baby cereal onto the market. When my little girl was just a baby, we depended on Gerber. And, we never questioned the purity or goodness of their products because of their long standing reputation. Why would Gerber drop the ball like this? Don't they understand that lives are depending on them? Very disappointing! I can only hope they choose to be more careful in the future, for all our children's sake! | |
| | | When Should You Start Feeding Baby Cereal? | | Over the years this has changed. When my kids were babies the doctor said if they are eating over 32 ounces of formula a day and are still hungry to start them on cereal. Now they say to wait till they are 4 months old otherwise they will have stomach problems. My kids all started eating cereal at 2 weeks old and don't have and have never had stomach problems. When do you think you should start feeding cereal? | |

| Strawberry pancakes and scrambled eggs | | I made strawberry pancakes and scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning. The kids went crazy eating them up. I cheated and started the pancakes with a muffin mix and added some barley baby cereal to them. I think they taste better with the barley in them. So, what did you have for breakfast this morning? | |
| | Constipated 7-month old baby, what must I do? | | I've been feeding my child with rice cereal (cerelac) for how many days now but she is constipated so I just fed her gerber squash 1 yesterday and today but she hasn't pooed yet. She is bottle-fed and also given water every now and then. SHe is having promil gold. HAve you had any experience like mine? Do I need to change her milk? Her pedia doesn't advise change in milk yet, just limit the cereal intake. This is her first two weeks to be given solid and I am having this problem. Her next check up will in two weeks time and I don't wanna see her pedia earlier that scheduled because the queue is very long and it would cost me another 500 bucks. Pls help me...thanks!I've tried suppository and it worked but my baby is in pain so I want to try other options. thanks a lot. | |
| | when did you stop feeding your infant gerber cereal? | | My daughter is 17 months and I am still giving her the gerber mixed grain cereal. I think its just for babies but it has so many good things in it that just cant be matched in other breakfast foods. It has a lot of iron which she really needs. I put some fruit in with it and she has it every morning. So when did you stop giving this to your baby? | |

| | at what age should babies drink milk from a bottle? | | my 4-year old's still drinking hers from her baby bottle. tried to get her to drink from a glass but she finished only half a glass whereas if she drinks from the bottle, she can finish up to 3 bottles at a time. so i figured, for as long as she drinks her milk, it doesn't matter how anymore. what do you think? | |

| How soon is too soon for Baby food? | | My child's pediatrician says that he would prefer me not give my son any food, whether it be baby rice cereal, baby food, or food off the table, until he is at least 10 months old. I didn't listen to him though. My aunt started feeding her son, Rice Cereal when he was 8 days old. My baby was about 10 or 11 days old when he first had cereal. I now give him cereal in the morning, with a warm bottle of milk, Around noon, he gets some kind of vegetable with a fruit, and at supper time he gets the same thing as at noon. Right before bed, He gets a bath every other night, cereal and a bottle. People tell me that this is too much for a 4 month old baby to have. He will be 4 months old on the 11th of December and is now weighing in at 14 lb 6 oz, and is 24 1/2 inches long. He gets around 4 6 oz bottles a day. And still seems like he's hungry. Is this too much food for him in one day? I just want your opinions. | |
